Ranjit’s presence is very light and filled with the peace of one who lives every moment in tune with the Infinite. He hardly sleeps, and when meeting him in the hall or his room, he greets you with the gentlest of smiles.

In true creativity, it is the experience rather than the description that counts. In art and writing, the white spaces sometimes speaks louder than the words or marks on paper. And, when cooking, rather than following a recipe to the letter, by letting it guide and speak to you, it can create itself in its own unique way.

The mah jongg girls were coming over . . . I hadn’t played mah jongg since I was twelve . . .  and then I was invited to join the Wednesday mah jongg girls. I realized it had been so long since I had actually played a game and my natural inclination was to decline, so without spending time analyzing it, I said, “yes.”
